On February 18th, OPIE students and faculty members joined hundreds of Ohio University students, faculty, staff, and friends to march in unity, regardless of race, religion, or ethnicity.
The event was sponsored by the International Student Union and was the first of its kind. It was planned to coincide with a celebration of the University’s founding–Founder’s Day. In a February 16th Post article on the event, Hashim Pastun, president of the International Student Union said, “We want to do our unity walk on the same day because it goes with celebrating the history and legacy of Ohio University.”

The walkers marched as a united group to Baker Ballroom, where they shared refreshments and stories of diversity and inclusion. Pashtun welcomed the crowd and set a harmonious tone: “We are all Bobcats.”
