 The World Cup

Are you a soccer fan?

Have you been watching the World Cup? There have been a lot of surprises so far! Germany won the last World Cup and many people thought they might win it again, but they lost to Mexico and South Korea.

Do you remember who won these matches?

  • Brazil vs Belgium
  • France vs Uruguay
  • Sweden vs England

We have had some very hot weather this summer, so be careful if there is a heat advisory. Here are some tips from the Red Cross to stay safe in the heat:

  • Wear lightweight clothing that is loose-fitting.
  • Drink lots of fluids. Avoid caffeine and alcohol.
  • Stay indoors if you can. If you have to work outdoors, try to take a lot of breaks. 

Athena Cinema is showing some special $2 movies this summer. The movies are family friendly and are being offered as a fundraiser for Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Athens County.
