Professor Sadiq Alhayek is a full professor at the University of Jordan and the former Vice Dean of Faculty of Physical Education. He has published over 150 research papers in 25 different countries and three textbooks about modern Curriculum and Instruction of Physical Education. Professor Alhayek has participated in more than 72 conferences, and he is a board member in 22 Scientific Educational Journals. He has earned the following awards:
- 2016: Distinguished Arab Scientific Medal, Academy of Scientific Research & Training, London, UK.
- 2006: Distinguished Researcher Award, The University of Jordan
- 2013: Distinguished Research Award, presented by of the Office of Prince Mohammed Al Maktoum for Sports Innovation, UAE.
- 2014: Distinguished Scientific Communication, Presented by College of Alkalam – Karkook, Iraq, during Alsharja Conference UAE.
Dr. Alhayek completed his PhD at Ohio University in 2001 after attending OPIE from 1997-1998. According to Dr. Alhayek, OPIE prepared him greatly for his professional future. He appreciates the “consistent emphasis on becoming a strong English speaker” that is prevalent in the program. Also, OPIE was a fun and challenging environment that helped him learn how to improve his language autonomously.
