Areas of Professional Interest
My primary interest is in ESL teaching. I am interested in the unique learning challenges associated with specific language backgrounds, both linguistically and culturally. I am especially interested in those challenges associated with composition and academic rhetorical styles.
Born and raised in Northern California, I completed my undergraduate degree and met my husband at the University of California at Santa Cruz. We arrived in Athens, Ohio over 20 years ago. While we long for the beaches and forests of the west coast, we are very happy to call Athens “home.” It has been a great place to raise our family, two daughters, one at the University of Vermont and one at Athens High School. I’ve always loved school and working as an instructor at the university is my dream job. I am very grateful for the opportunity.
